International Conference on Climate Action (ICCA)

From 22 to 23 March 2019, Prof. Jens Lowitzsch (coordinator, European University Viadrina), Jaroslav Klusak (energy manager, City of Litomerice) and Marie Kleeschulte (project manager, climate alliance) attended the international climate neighborhoods conference as part of the International Conference on Climate Action 2019 (ICCA19) in Heidelberg, Germany.

On 22 March, they both participated in the 6th workshop on “Cooperatives and Consumer Stock Ownership Plans (CSOPs)”, respectively as moderator and speaker along with Andreas Gißler of the Heidelberg Energy cooperative. The workshop tried to answer the following two questions:

  1. “How can citizens' financial resources be used in climate mitigation projects?”
  2. “What opportunities for raising private capital are existing and how can these opportunities be scaled up?”

Furthermore, Prof. Lowitzsch presented the cluster results the day after. Those results were gathered in a fishbowl discussion, in the context of which participants of the aforementioned workshop and two others on public private partnerships and divestment convened.

Prof. Lowitzsch also presented SCORE at the Energy cities general assembly.
